Congratulations Barack!

Barack Obama, President-elect, first African-American president of the United StatesThis is an historic moment and I am both proud and astounded to be a part of it.  I watched the results come in from the Democratic Party celebration and between the cheering and happiness, one was reminded of how significant this election was while watching Jesse Jackson in tears, speechless, amongst the crowds.  I stood with Jen next to a woman who had marched next to Jesse during the rights movement, and then later with a group of volunteers for moveon.org.  Even the humbility and sincerity of John McCain’s speech was excellent.

The sheer momentum was palpable and it was moving to just be in it.  I have been an avid supporter since the beginning - I truly believe that whether it is the man himself or simply the ideal that he brings to the minds of a newly reborn America, he will be the catalyst for a much needed change in this country.  Congratulations to President-elect Obama.
